Department of english

Department of English, established in 1984, offers UG Programme in English for Arts and Commerce faculty students. The syllabus of the UG Programme is framed by the affiliating University i.e. Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The syllabus is immensely useful for students to acquire basic communication skills, soft skills, life skills, etc. The department has developed its own Departmental Library which consists of more than 75 books. Since its inception in 1984, the Department of English has been taking sincere efforts to develop the department as a center for academic excellence. It has a glorious legacy of eminent teachers such as Prof. Satish N. Mane, Prin. N. K. Shinde and Prof. Maner. At present, there are four faculty members in the department. The faculty members are well-experienced and research-oriented. The department also provides intensive mentoring to students both in and beyond the classroom. It aims to enhance communication skills, literary interest, language competence, and critical thinking among the students. The department, therefore, undertakes debates, discussions, participative learning, project-based learning, etc. for the overall development of the students. The department runs various courses such as Basic English Grammar, Foundation Course in English, and English for Competitive Examinations. English Literary Association is also a key feature of the department.
